Spruce Craft Co

Elise is the Creator in Chief at Spruce Craft Co and is our featured maker for January.  She runs her small family business in Melbourne, Victoria.  What started as a side-hustle, became her full-time gig in 2019 thanks to her dedicated cross-stitch community.

What do you make?

Modern cross-stitch designs and kits.

What inspires you?

Anything colourful - just seeing a good colour

palette can inspire an avalanche of designs.

When you were younger what did you want to be?

I wanted to be a fashion designer although I never had

an interest in making clothes - I just liked the design part.

I am never without...

A good pair of fabric scissors.

On my workbench I have...

Handfuls of cotton skeins that I never quite

get around to putting away.

The person I get my creative inspiration from is...

No 'one' person - but Instagram is great for being exposed to great artwork and design without having to leave the couch.

Marianni New

Bee Folk

Marianni was our very first maker to join The Makers Revolution and makes DIY beeswax wrap kits.  She runs her small family business, Bee Folk, from the Northern Rivers, NSW.  She is happy to see more people taking up the idea of wax wraps and ditching single-use plastic wrap.
